The Cincinnati Bearcats (17-12) will battle against the 14th ranked Houston Cougars (24-4) in the AAC at Fertitta Center in Houston on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 9:00 PM ET. Guard David DeJulius led the offense for Cincinnati with an average of 14.4 PPG and 2.5 assists per outing while Guard Jeremiah Davenport added 13.6 PPG as the next leading scorer with a team-high 5.5 rebounds per contest. Guard Mika Adama-Woods dished out an average of 3.2 assists per match for the Bearcats.

The 14th ranked Houston Cougars won four outings in a row and improved their overall record to 24-4 on the season. The Cougars ended a two-game losing skid after winning over UCF, Wichita State, Tulane, and their recent 14-point loss to the SMU Mustangs on Sunday.

 

No.14 Houston took the lead at 13-2 in the American Athletic Conference with an overall standing at 24-4 and a home record at 14-1 on the year.

 

In beating conference rival SMU, the Cougars held the Mustangs in shooting just 39.0% and controlled the glass by 49-25 total rebounds in gaining a 15-point halftime lead on the way to their 75-61 home win. Forward Fabian White powered the offense for Houston with 21 points and 9 rebounds in the victory.

 

The Cougars nailed an average of 76.3 PPG on 46.7% shooting from the field, 34.1% from the rainbow territory, and 66.0% from the foul line while their defense held their opponents to just 59.0 PPG.

 

Guard Marcus Sasser topped all scorers of Houston with an average of 17.7 points and 2.8 rebounds while Guard Kyler Edwards averaged 13.6 PPG with 5.9 rebounds per outing. Forward Josh Carlton controlled the glass for the Cougars with an average of 6.6 rebounds per game.
