The Northwestern Wildcats will play host to a Big Ten game against the number 24 ranked Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday, January 29 at 4:30 pm ET at the Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston.

The Northwestern Wildcats will look to snap their three-game losing streak.  Last Wednesday, Northwestern was defeated by the Michigan Wolverines at 72-70.  The Wildcats outscored Michigan 39-38 in the second half but couldn’t finish with the win. 

 

Pete Nance was the highest scorer with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Boo Buie and Ryan Young added 13 points each.  Robbie Beran finished with 10 points.  The Wildcats were shooting 44.8%, made 8 of 17 from beyond the arc, and only 16 of 26 in free throws. They were edged in rebounding by Michigan 24-25 but forced the Wolverines to turn over the ball 13 times.  

 

This season, Northwestern posted an average of 76.2 ppg which is 80th, 36.6 rebounds per game is 161st, and 17.3 assists per game which is top 16 in the NCAA Men’s Basketball.
