The Georgetown Hoyas played just one game since the December 18th loss to TCU. In that game, the Hoyas fell to Marquette 92-64 in their first Big East matchup of the season.

The Hoyas had an up and down season to start, at just 6-6 on the season. The Hoyas looked like a team that hadn’t played in weeks in the loss to Marquette. Another home game might be just what the Hoyas need to try and right the ship.

After such a long layoff, it wasn’t a surprise that the Hoyas struggled against Marquette but how MUCH they struggled was concerning. Georgetown shot 30% from the field while allowing Marquette to shoot 59% from the field.

The Hoyas were also out-rebounded 45-33 in the one-sided home defeat. Head coach Patrick Ewing knows that a layoff isn’t a good enough excuse when it comes to competing in such a quality conference.
