The 15th ranked UTSA Roadrunners will try to defend their home field after their bid for a perfect record this season was spoiled by a 23-45 road defeat to North Texas.

 

The Roadrunners started the season with 11 successive wins before losing to the Mean Green on Saturday. Texas-San Antonio topped all teams at 7-1 in the West Division of the Conference USA with an overall standing at 11-1 while winning all six contests played at home this season.

 

The Roadrunners were disappointed when their defense allowed 45 points scored by North Texas on their way to the 4th quarter while gaining just 10 points in the final quarter of their 23-45 loss.

 

UTSA nailed 366 yards of total offense while their defense gave up 456 to the North Texas Mean Green. The Roadrunners completed 62 total plays on 5.9 yards per play and had 16 first downs in the loss.

 

UTSA utilized a three-quarterback offense with QB Frank Harris taking the lead after completing 7 of his 14 pass attempts for 59 yards, QB Josh Adkins added 28 passing yards, and QB Eddie Lee Marburger contributed 74 yards and landed a touchdown.

 

QB Frank Harris also rushed for 97 yards on 10 carries and nailed a touchdown while WR Tre’von Bradley caught a pass for 67 receiving yards and nailed one touchdown in the losing effort. Safety Rashad Wisdom led the defensive line with 6 total tackles for the Roadrunners.
