Virginia just lost their recent stint versus Notre Dame and will try to rebound against 20th ranked Pittsburgh on Saturday.


The Cavaliers lost their last two matches to BYU and Notre Dame following their four-game winning streak. Virginia is in 2nd place in the ACC Coastal Division with a 4-2 conference and a 6-4 overall standing this season.

RB Mike Hollins struggled in leading the running game for only 44 yards on 9 carries while QB Keytaon Thompson hauled down 9 passes for 110 receiving yards in defeat. On defense, LB Nick Jackson led the Cavaliers’ defenders with 3 solos and 6 assisted tackles in the loss.

The 20th ranked Pittsburgh Panthers will try to defend their home field versus the visiting Virginia team after winning their last two matches. The Panthers defeated Duke and UNC following a defeat to Miami-FL that snapped their six-game winning streak.


Pittsburgh took the lead in the ACC Coastal Division with a 5-1 conference and an 8-2 overall standing while winning all their outings on the road. The Panthers took an early 23-7 lead in the first two quarters but failed to score in the second half forcing the game into overtime at 23-all.

On ground offense, RB Israel Abanikanda led the running game with 63 rushing yards on 12 carries while WR Jordan Addison grabbed 6 passes for 84 receiving yards in the winning effort. On defense, LB SirVocea Dennis controlled the backfield for Pittsburgh with 9 total tackles and a sack.
