49ers at Jaguars—San Francisco got on a positive track with a strong running game in their 31-20 home win to the Rams. Bad news for San Francisco as starting running back Elijah Mitchell is listed as doubtful with a finger injury. 49ers have been hit hard with injuries at this position. Jacksonville offense is trending poorly in their past three games with 286 yards with 172 yards passing for 4.4 yards per rush. They have converted only 28.6% on third down in this period and a poor 50% conversion rate in the red zone. Jaguars putting up only 11 points a game in this span. Play San Francisco and Jacksonville under 45.

Washington at Carolina—Washington head coach Ron Rivera knows how to defend Cam Newton His arm strength has weakened as he has struggled to throw deep downfield. Football Team has defended well past two games holding the Broncos to 17 points they after the bye held the Buccaneers to 19 points in a ten point win. In four passes last week Newton averaged only 2 yards per attempt. He struggled mightily with accuracy in his final years with the Panthers. Carolina has lost five of seven. Carolina defense is last in the red zone and on offense has struggled on third down. The more hits Newton takes the less impact he has in the game especially in this period of his career. These teams met in the playoffs last year with he Bills winning by three as the Colts were able to run and move the ball through the air against the Bills. On offense the Titans are without Henry and wide receiver Julio Jones. Houston is coming off a bye week and better with Tyrod Taylor under center. He was rusty in his return against the Dolphins but was effective against the Jaguars and Browns with three touchdowns and no picks. Play Houston +10.5.

Dolphins at Jets—It will be Joe Flacco under center as the Jets turn to option three at that position. He couldn’t’ see action as a backup for Philadelphia this year. Last year with the Jets, Flacco completed 55.2% and averaged only 6.4 yards per pass attempt. Dolphins carry a two game win streak with eight point wins at home to Houston and by 12 to Baltimore. Miami defense held the Texans to 272 yards and 294 to the Ravens. They gave up 19 points total in those two games. Flacco is immobile and the Jets have struggled with pass protection allowing almost three sacks a game. Jets defense trending poorly as in their past three games allowing 446 yards with 6.3 yards per rush and 9.7 yards per pass attempt. Play Miami -3.5.

Bengals at Raiders—Both teams have struggled with two game losing streaks for each. Bengals come off the bye and there has been turmoil on and off the field for the Raiders. Raiders offense has struggled with 16 points at the Giants and 14 to the Chiefs. Las Vegas gained only 299 yards on the Chiefs defense that was struggled. Las Vegas defense 19th on third down and 31st in the red zone. Bengals have road wins at the Ravens and Steelers. Play Cincinnati -1.

Pittsburgh defense has held up on the road by allowing 348 yards, 4.2 yards per rush and 5.9 yards per pass attempt. On the season the Steelers are sixth on third down and third in the red zone. Chargers have lost three of four. Defensively the team has allowed 24 or greater points in five straight. This unit is 31st on third down and 20th inside the red zone. We have seen a lot of Steeler fans travel to San Diego when the Chargers played down there. There will be a huge contingent of Pittsburgh fans in LA for this one. There will be no homefield advantage for the Chargers here. In three of his past four starts Justin Herbert averaged 5.7 yards per attempt against the Vikings, 6.4 versus the Patriots and five against the Ravens. Play Pittsburgh +5.5.
