In the game, Miami started with an 11-point lead during the first quarter and further widened the gap in the second, adding 10 more points to their scoreboard in contrast to the Panthers’ seven. 

 

In the second half, Pittsburgh managed to rally, posting 14 points during the third quarter and casting up another three points in the last.  Unfortunately, this was not enough to counter the Hurricane’s strong start. 

 

Quarterback Kenny Pickett led the team with 2,755 passing yards that included a completion percentage of 69.2, a total of 26 touchdowns, and three interceptions. 

 

The rushing attack layed in the hands of running back Israel Abanikanda with 431 yards on 84 carries, while wide receiver Jordan Addison is the leading receptor with 47 receptions for 815 yards. 

 

Defensively, the team relied on linebackers SirVocea Dennis as the leading tackler with 45, Habakkuk Baldonado with 6.5 quarterback sacks, and John Petrishen with a total of two interceptions.

On the end of the Duke Blue Devils, the team is coming in with an unimproved record of 3-5.  So far in the season, the team is still riding on a bad streak as they suffered their fourth straight loss against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on their last outing by a disappointing score of 45-7. 

 

The Blue Devils failed to move their score in the first through the third quarter.  Quarterback Gunnar Holmberg went for 10/18 as he threw for just 110 yards with zero touchdowns.  The rushing offense followed behind running back Mataeo Durant’s lead with 103 yards rushing on 20 carries. 

 

Meanwhile, Duke allowed their opponents 411 yards of passing offense and three touchdowns, as well as 266 yards rushing and three touchdowns.   

 

Holmberg led the way for the Blue Devils, throwing for 1,860 yards, including 69.2 completion percentage, six touchdowns, and six interceptions.  Durant led the rushing offense with 973 yards and nine touchdowns, while wide receiver Jake Bobo led in receptions with 52 for 585 yards and a lone touchdown. 

 

Defensively, the leading tackler is linebacker Shaka Heyward with 65, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, who posted a team-high sack of 3.5, and the leader in interceptions is cornerback Leonard Johnson with 2.
