The Purdue Boilermakers and the No. 2 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes are gearing up as both teams, along with many others, further midway through the season of NCAAF.  Purdue will face off the Iowa Hawkeyes in NCAA football action at the Kinnick Stadium stadium in Iowa this Saturday.

 

The Purdue Boilermakers are coming in with a 3-2 record following a 20-13 loss against the Minnesota Golden Gophers in their previous outing.  In this game, Purdue relied mainly on their quarterbacks, Adrian O’Connell and Jack Plummer, to lead the way for the team.  

 

Plummer threw for a total of 840 passing yards, including 82 completions out of 118 attempts, and seven touchdowns, while O’Connell contributed 743 yards, along with 66 completion passes out of 100 attempts.  The rushing offense was led by running back King Doenue with 221 yards across 48 attempts and a lone touchdown. 

 

The leader in receptions is wide receiver David Bell, who caught 27 overall on 39 targets through 439 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Safety Marvin Grant led the team with the most tackles delivered with 28, while Zane Grene picked the ball once.  Overall, Purdue allowed average passing yards of 175.2 and rushing yards of 124.4 per contest from their opponents.

Over to the side of the Iowa Hawkeyes, the team remains undefeated since the season kicked off, and hopes their record stays that way to secure a playoff berth.  In their previous match, Iowa went against Penn State Nittany Lions and held out until the end after a comeback from a seven-point gap during the last quarter.
