Roethlisberger averaged only 5.2 yards per pass in the win against Buffalo. Their run game produced 3.6 per attempt. Steelers have a good defense but so is the Raiders offense. Rams at Colts—NFL free pick is LA Rams -3.5. Matthew Stafford looked like a definite upgrade for the Rams in the backfield. The veteran was poised in drop back pocket situations. He finished with 321 passing yards averaging 12.3 yards per pass attempt and three touchdowns. Indianapolis fell to Seattle in their opener held to 16 points. Carson Wentz posted only 6.6 yards per pass attempt. He was sacked three times and took ten hits. Indianapolis struggled on third down converting 5 of 13. Colts defense did not make a red zone stop. New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Pick Prediction 9/19/2021
Patriots at Jets—Free pick is New England Patriots and New York Jets to play under the total of 43 points. Patriots put on a good defensive performance in the opener holding the Miami Dolphins to 259 yards and only 3.2 yards per rush. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones moved the Patriots downfield but too many stopped drives in the red zone. Jets offense held to fourteen points by Carolina in the opener in defeat. This is a tough spot for rookie quarterback Zack Wilson facing a Bill Belichick defense for the first time.
