The Lafayette Leopards will clash with the Air Force Falcons in the Pre-Season game of the NCAAF at Falcon Stadium in the U.S. Air Force Academy on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM ET. Lafayette ended last season with a 4-2 conference and 4-8 overall record while securing 2nd place in FCS Patriot League. The Leopards collected a total of 221 points but lost 319 for a -98 point difference. Technically, the Leopards competed in their 2020 season in the spring of 2021 and they completed just three games as scheduled. Two of their contests were postponed and played on different dates. With a lot of returning old-timers in the roster, the experience will not be a problem for Lafayette and most importantly, this is a team with a record of success in League play. Therefore, any significant improvements made in the past two seasons would give the Leopards a fair chance to claim a Conference Crown.

Last season, QB Keegan Shoemaker completed 216 of his 360 attempted passes for 2,565 yards with 91 longest passes and scored a total of 14 touchdowns for Lafayette. In leading the running game, RB Selwyn Simpson recorded 82 attempted rushes for 360 yards with 34 long rushes and landed five touchdowns. WR Nick Pearson grabbed 34 passes for 623 yards with 80 long receptions and nailed three touchdowns in leading the receiving squad for the Leopards. In controlling the backfield, LB Marco Olivas posted a total of 17 tackles for Lafayette.

Lafayette Leopards vs Air Force Falcons Predictions 9/4/2021

The Air Force Falcons will be hosting the pre-season competition against the Lafayette Leopards on September 4, 2021. Air Force took 7th place in the Mountain West Conference with 2-2 conference and 3-3 overall record. The Falcons gained a total of 146 points but wasted 90 for a point difference of +56 after winning two games at home and one contest on the road. QB Haaziq Daniels who started every game in the 2020 season will be leading Air Force passing offense and he also finished second in the team’s running game with 297 yards and threw for 433 yards with three touchdowns. On defense, the Falcons defensive lineman Jordan Jackson will be returning after the rehabilitation from shoulder surgery. Jackson delivered in a big way for the backfield and his return may resemble the 2019 defensive line with an 11-2 record, bowl record, and a top 25 ranking.

QB Haaziq Daniels led the passing offense for the Falcons after connecting 30 of his 54 pass attempts for 433 yards with 49 longest passes, three touchdowns, three interceptions, and one sack last season. RB Brad Roberts made 64 attempted rushes for 461 yards with 44 long rushes for five touchdowns. Daniels added 55 rush attempts for 297 yards and landed three touchdowns. TE Kyle Patterson was the favorite target for Daniels with 12 receptions for 205 yards and nailed two touchdowns. CB Elisha Palm recorded 38 total tackles in controlling the backfield for Air Force.
