The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats will go against the UTEP Miners in NCAAF action in Sun Bowl, TX, on Saturday, September 04, 2021, at 9:00 PM (EDT). Terry Sims, the team’s sixth-year head coach and defensive coordinator Charles Jones (11th season) will lead them. From leading his Wildcats to their first-ever visit to a Big 10 stadium in October 2019 when they met Nebraska, to a historic triumph in the Florida Blue Jackets Sims was a guiding force for a team that experienced success on the field while also molding the spirit of young men off it, as seen by a 31-27 win over Florida A&M in 2019. It was B-ninth CU’s straight victory over Florida A&M and his fifth win in as many attempts. In the history of its football program, the Wildcats earned 2 black college football national championships and 7 MEAC Championships.

Bethune-Cookman Wildcats vs UTEP Miners Predictions 9/4/2021

The last time UTEP competed in a bowl game was in 2014. Since their participation in the New Mexico Bowl 7 years ago, the Miners went 21-54, and they are expected to finish at the bottom in Conference USA West Division this year. Head coach Dana Dimel, on the other hand, has great expectations for his club in 2021. The Miners were 3-5 (0-4) during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, winning their only two home matches, although against FCS opponents (Abilene Christian and Stephen F. Austin).

Even in just eight matches, last year’s UTEP team was noticeably different from the prior three-under Dimel. The largest change came on offense, where sophomore quarterback Gavin Hardison displayed flashes of an explosive offense by throwing the ball to Justin Garrett and Jacob Cowing. Deion Hankins, the team’s freshman running back and a popular favorite in the community, raced over, around, and through opposition defenses.

  • The Texas El Paso Miners are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 matches.
  • The Paso Miners are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 matches at home.
  • Texas El Paso is 3-17 SU in their last 20 matches played in September.

Bethune-Cookman Wildcats vs UTEP Miners. The NCAAF pick for this game is the UTEP Miners. Despite all of the attention about the offense, the defensive line will have a special playmaker as well. Praise Amaewhule, a sophomore defensive end, developed as one of Conference USA’s greatest pass rushers. With the arrival of junior Justin Prince, the Miners’ secondary will be stronger, but the linebacker spot will be a worry, which is why UTEP is expected to go to a 4-2-5 defense. The schedule for UTEP in 2021 boosts their prospects of becoming bowl eligible, but they must take games that they are meant to win. The UTEP Miners will win to a predicted score of
