Georgia vs. Clemson—College football pick is Georgia Bulldogs +4. More experience at the playmaker positions for the Bulldogs here on this neutral site game in Charlotte North Carolina. JT Daniels returns as quarterback and the team returns playmakers in the backfield and wide receiver position. This program is tested every year in the SEC. Clemson is returning two to performers in their backfield in quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne. Tigers lost their step up games last year dropping a 47-40 decision at Notre and and 49-28 to Ohio St in the Sugar Bowl. LSU at UCLA Pick Prediction 9/4/2021
LSU at UCLA—College football free pick is UCLA Bruins +4. LSU had to relocate to Houston because of Hurricane fears in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Tigers look to rebound from a 5-5 season that saw the defense digress greatly from their National Championship team. They gave up 44 points to Mississippi St, 45 to Missouri, 48 to Auburn, 55 to Alabama and 48 to Ole Miss. LSU quarterback Myles Brennan had arm surgery early in the month so it will be Max Johnson under center. He completed 58.7% of his throws last year. Bruins are loaded returning 20 starters from last year with 10 on each side of the football. They pounded an experienced Hawaii team last week in their opener 44-10 with 392 yards offensively. The run game produced 244 yards with 5.7 per attempt. It was only 4.6 yards per attempt for Hawaii quarterbacks passing on the UCLA defense. Bruins showed improvement last year on both ends of the field. Play UCLA +4.
Texas Tech vs. Houston Pick Prediction 9/4/2021
Texas Tech at Houston—Free pick is Houston Cougars +2. Head coach Dana Holgorsen has experience on his squad with nine starters back on offense and defense. Clayton Tune returns under center as does his entire receiving corps and wide receiver. Defense has shown improvement for Holgorsen in all two of his seasons at Houston. Defensively the Cougars return all in the secondary. Red Raiders a losing team last year. Transfer Tyler Shough expected to start under center for the Red Raiders. Oregon was 2-3 when he saw significant time under center for the Ducks. Last year 13 touchdowns and 6 picks with the Ducks in his five games. Texas Tech 106th in the nation on third down last year. Oklahoma vs. Tulane Pick Prediction 9/4/2021
Oklahoma vs. Tulane—College football pick is Oklahoma Sooners -26.5. Tulane was a team that struggled defending the pass last year. Team surrendered 8.5 yards per pass attempt which was 111th in the nation and 279 yards which was 115th. Many of those offensive starters return including the starter quarterback. They struggled in their step up games in the AAC giving up 49 points to Houston and 51 to UCF. They were near the bottom of college football in third down conversions because they are pretty much a one dimensional team that ran a lot. Green Wave 116th in pass completion at 52.7% and 85th in yards per pass attempt at 6.8. Oklahoma a talented offensive team that did show improvement defensively holding opponents to 21.7 points per game. Fifteen starters return for the Sooners including Heiman candidate quarterback Spencer Rattler who completed 67.5% of his passes with 28 touchdowns and 7 picks. Tulane’s defensive front and secondary inexperienced. Play Oklahoma -26.5.
Alabama vs. Miami Pick Prediction 9/4/2021
Alabama vs. Miami—College football free pick is Alabama Crimson Tide -18.5. Miami struggled in their step up games blown out by North Carolina and Clemson. Hurricanes defense allowed 62 to the Tar Heels and 42 to Clemson. They did lose to Oklahoma St in their bowl game. Returning under center for Miami is D’Eriq King. Issue is he returns from a torn ACL suffered in the final game of the season. Hurricanes defense was worse last year surrendering 27 points and 408 yards per game. Alabama reloads under Nick Saban. He gets his teams ready for season openers with wins by 17 or greater past six seasons. There is experience on the Crimson Tide defense with eight starters back. Bryce Young expected starter for the Crimson Tide. He did see spot work in relief in his freshman season and is a threat to run. Play Alabama -18.5.
Penn St vs. Wisconsin Pick Prediction 9/4/2021
Penn St vs. Wisconsin—Free pick is Penn St Nittany Lions +4.5. Penn St has won and covered six of their past seven against Wisconsin. Quarterback Graham Mertz returns under center for a Wisconsin team that digressed mightily on offense putting up 25.1 points per game. This is an experienced offense but they scored only 7 against Northwestern and Iowa with 6 points scored to Indiana. The run game generated only 3.9 yards per pass attempt. Penn St returns nine on offense including junior quarterback Sean Clifford who has all of his playmakers returning. COVID took its toll on the program and impacted the program defensively. Look for James Franklin to restore his defense like it was in 2019, 18 and 17. Nittany Lions have averaged over 400 yards of offense the past five seasons under Franklin. Play Penn St +4.5.

West Virginia vs. Maryland—College football pick is West Virginia Mountaineers -3. This is an experience Mountaineers team returning seventeen starters. Head coach Neal Brown has improved the defense in his time at the school. Last year the Mountaineers held opponents to 21.7 points per game. Jarret Doege returns under center and has all his playmakers back. Maryland finished 2-3 last year scoring 3 points at Northwestern and 11 to Indiana. Maryland was a poor offensive team and bad on third down conversions. This came avoiding Ohio St, Iowa and Wisconsin from the schedule last year. Under Locksley the Terrapins defense has surrendered 430 yards and 449 yards per game past two seasons. Play West Virginia -3.
Stanford vs. Kansas St Pick Prediction 9/4/2021
Stanford vs. Kansas St—College football free pick is Stanford Cardinal -2. Kansas St under third year head coach Chris Klieman took a dive down in his second season at the school. They finished with five straight losses. The passing game rated near the bottom of college football, and they converted only 33% on third down. Defensively the program digressed as they sat near the bottom in the nation in passing yards allowed and completion percentage. Stanford will run the football behind Austin Jones who led the team in yardage. Cardinal has experience on the defensive line and secondary. They do break in a first year starter at quarterback.
