Nebraska at Illinois—College football pick is Illinois Fighting Illini +7. Bret Bielema era begins for the Fighting Illini. He inherits 18 starters from last season with nine of each side of the field. In their head to head meeting last year at Nebraska, the Fighting Illini came away with a 41-23 win as they put up 490 yards on the Cornhuskers defense with 285 rushing. Illinois returns starting quarterback Brandon Peters and has most of his playmakers back. Nebraska has lost 20 of 32 under head coach Scott Frost. There is some off the field issues with investigations about Frost’s program. Fighting Illini has covered their past two meetings by putting up 41 and 38 points the past two seasons. Connecticut vs. Fresno St Pick Prediction 8/28/2021
UCONN at Fresno St—College football free pick is Fresno St Bulldogs -27.5. This is an experienced Fresno St team returning nineteen starters from last year. Returning is starting quarterback Jake Haener who led an offense last year that averaged 479 yards per game. All of his playmakers return. Connecticut a down program that didn’t compete 2020. Defensively for the Huskies have been very poor the last two seasons with the Huskies surrendering 617 yards a game in 2018 and 467 yards in 2019. Three first year starters on the offensive line for UCONN. Tough for the Huskies to get stops on this experienced offense of the Bulldogs. Play Fresno St -27.5.

Hawaii at UCLA—Free pick is Hawaii Warriors +18. Hawaii returns 18 starters back from their bowl team a season ago. Head coach Todd Graham experience with coaching stops at Pittsburgh and Arizona St. They did show improvement defensive holding teams to 409 yards and 27.5 points per game. They won at Fresno St last year and covered against Boise St as well as Nevada. In their bowl game it was a 28-14 win to Houston. The defense returns 11 starters. Back is sophomore quarterback Chevan Cordeiro. He is a dual threat quarterback who passed for 253 yards and rushed for 90 on Boise St. UCLA has had their issues facing dual threat quarterbacks. Under Kelly the Bruins have failed to cover six of eight as a favorite missing the cover by 8.8 points and losing straight up in five of those games. Bruins lone loss on offense is their top running back from last year. Bruins play LSU next week. Play Hawaii +18.
UTEP vs. New Mexico St Pick Prediction 8/28/2021
UTEP at New Mexico St—College football pick is UTEP Miners -10. This is a very young team with only three starters back from last year. UTEP returns nineteen starters from a 3-5 team from last year. They do have a win 31-6 at UL Monroe last year. They covered in road games at Louisiana Tech, Charlotte and North Texas. Aggies played two games last year losing 43-17 at home to Tarlenton St and beating Dixie St 36-29 after falling behind 14-3. No starters back on defense that gave up 492 yards per game facing Tarlenton St and Dixie St. Prefer the experience with the Miners. Play UTEP -10.
