Denmark were really unlucky in their first two matches of the group stage, but they did manage to win their most important match and they are now through to the round of 16. There they will meet Wales, who might have lost their match against Italy but they did manage to qualify after grabbing 4 points in their previous two matches.

Wales had a draw in the opener against Switzerland and then beat Turkey to grab four points prior to their final match of the group stage against Italy. That final match did not go well, as Italy took an early lead at the first half, while Wales saw a red card at the 55th minute that destroyed their chances of a comeback. Even so, the combination of the other result saw Wales finish at the 2nd spot of the group and moved to the round of 16. Wales made an extremely deep run in the previous EURO, where they beat Belgium by 3-1 in the quarter-finals but were eliminated against France in the semis. They now want to do the same thing, and they have a seemingly easy draw here.

Wales vs Denmark Predictions 6/26/2021

Denmark started the tournament in an awful manner after the Eriksen incident, resulting in a 1-0 loss to Finland. They pulled themselves together in the second match against Belgium, taking the lead and creating a ton of chances, but they eventually lost by 2-1 in the second half. Even so, they knew that a win against Russia in the final match would see them through to the next round, possibly as 2nd in the group, and not only did they win, but they destroyed the Russians. Denmark scored two goals in each half to overcome Russia (who did score a penalty kick in-between those goals), but Denmark were the obvious winners in that match. They now have a clear path to the semi-finals, and they will fight for a deep run.

Wales vs Denmark. The last time these two met in a competitive match was back in 2018 for the Nations League, where Denmark won both matches (2-0 at home / 2-1 on the road). Wales have a really competitive side and are really dangerous down both flanks with Bale and James. Denmark have created the most scoring chances in this tournament but they are now up against a tough Wales defense. Even so, I am taking the Over 2 Goals here, which should be a push in the worst case scenario. Taking Denmark to win is also playable here.
