They finished up their five games shooting 52.6% from the floor along with 43.7% from three. Bucks in that period surrendering 48% shooting and 46% from three. Heat took Bucks out of the playoffs in five games last year covering four of those games Play Miami +5.
Dallas Mavericks vs. LA Clippers NBA Pick Prediction 5/22/2021
Mavericks at Clippers—NBA free pick is LA Clippers -5.5. These teams met in the playoffs last year with LAC winning in a hard fought six games. Clippers are the best three point and free throw shooting team in the league. They are making 41.1% of their shots from three. Mavericks have had issues defending this season. On the year the Mavs have allowed 47% shooting along with 36.2% from three point range. Clippers rested and healthy have the better depth. A healthy Leonard, George and Beverly are huge. Clippers also have the better depth. LAC has won five of the previous nine meetings and in those wins the team has won by eight points or greater each time. Play LA Clippers -5.5.

Celtics at Nets—Free pick is Boston Celtics +8. Respect the Celtics performance in defeating an improving Washington Wizards team in the play in round 118-100 behind a good defensive performance. Now Boston head coach Brad Stevens has 3 days to put together a game plan to defense Harden, Durant and Irving on the court together prior to the adjustment period as the series goes deeper. Celtics in the play in game showed they can rise defensively in playoff spots. Steve Nash a rookie coach will see if he can get the Nets to defend at an even higher level that is needed in the postseason. Will take points in the opener. Play Boston +8.

Trailblazers at Nuggets—NBA pick is Portland Trailblazers +1. Can’t discount the playoff experience for the Trailblazers starting guard duo of Lillard and McCollum. Trailblazers will benefit greatly from the rest on account of how much they rely on their two guards. With rest will look to a Trailblazers team that shot extremely well down the stretch as in their past five games hitting on 49.6% along with 42% from three. Overall Denver did not defend at an elite level as they surrendered 47% shooting on the year. Huge injuries for the Nuggets here. They are without guards Murray and Dozier as well as small forward Barton to injuries. Guard Austin Rivers is questionable with a non-COVID illness. With so many of their guards out it will be a challenge for Denver to defend Lillard and McCollum effectively enough until enough film has been compiled once this series goes deeper. Play Portland +1.
