Stability in this program as Holtz enters his eighth season at the school. This will be the first big test for BYU. Numbers have been good but now it’s a step up in class facing Louisiana Tech. Tulsa at UCF—College football free pick is Tulsa Golden Hurricane +21.5. Southern Miss at North Texas—Free pick is North Texas Mean Green -1.5. North Texas offensively has show good ability to move the football with 619 yards per game. Run game produced 286 yards a contest for 5.4 per attempt. They did drop a game to SMU but facing Southern Miss is a drop in class. Southern Miss is 0-3 with double digit losses to South Alabama and Tulane all on their home field. Golden Eagles head coach resigned after week one and replacement Scotty Walden coaching in his first road game. Golden Eagles offense generating only 2.9 yards per carry on the ground with 34 attempts per game. Mean Green are rushing the football 52 times a game and that will wear on the Golden Eagles.
