Troy vs. Middle Tennessee St—College football pick is Middle Tennessee St Blue Raiders +3.5. Blue Raiders look for a rebound after falling to Army two weeks ago. Blue Raiders are an experienced offensive team with nine starters back on offense. Thinks should be easier for MTSU quarterback Asher O’ Hara who finished as the leading rusher for the team last season. He did complete 62.7% of his throws last year and has two of his top three receivers back. Blue Raiders have a game under their belt and Troy does not. Trojans were not a bowl team last year finishing at 5-7. Trojans break in a first year starting quarterback and three first year starters on the offensive line. Troy also inexperience in their front seven defensively. Middle Tennessee St will play with 20% of their fans in the stadium. Play Middle Tennessee St Blue Raiders +3.5.
SMU vs. North Texas Pick Prediction 9/19/2020
SMU vs. North Texas—College football free pick is North Texas Mean Green +14. A good debut for quarterback Jason Bean who had three passing and a rushing touchdown in their win last week. Mean Green did post 721 yards on offense and it was balanced on the ground and passing game. Bean has his top running back and three of their top receivers from last year. Seth Littrell is in his fifth year as head coach and led the Mean Green to bowl games in 2016, 2017 and 2018 missing last year. SMU opened with Texas St and failed to cover in a 31-24 road win. Bobcats broke in a first year starting quarterback and had no tight ends available due to Covid. Mustangs defense surrendered 189 yards on the ground to Texas St. Mustangs head coach Sonny Dykes lost his job at California due to the poor play defensively. Must worry about SMU defensively and no comfortable laying double digits here. Mean Green did beat the Mustangs at home in 2018. Play North Texas+14.
Miami vs. Louisville Pick Prediction 9/19/2020
Miami vs. Louisville—Free pick is Louisville Cardinals -2.5. Miami got past UAB in their opener. Quarterback D’Eriq King averaged 6 yards per pass attempt as he threw for only 141 yards hitting only 10 of 24 throws. Hurricanes do lose their leading receiver and running back from last season. They break in seven first year starters on defense with inexperience in the back seven with five first year starters. Louisville showed improvement under head coach Scott Satterfield in his first year putting up over 13 points more per game and allowing 11 fewer points. This is an experienced team with eight starters back on offense and defense. Quarterback MCale Cunningham returns as does his leading running back and two top receivers. Cunningham threw for 19 of 34 for 343 yards with three touchdowns and a pick facing Western Kentucky. Cunningham showed more downfield playmaking averaging 10 yards per attempted pass. More stability with the Louisville offense as King is developing chemistry with his playmakers and the new spread offense implemented this season. There is major revenge for the Cardinals after losing big at Miami last season. Play Louisville -2.5.
