West Virginia was one of the biggest disappointments finishing at 16-21 and 4-14 in the Big 12. They do have four starters back from that team. This is a young team with seven freshman and sophomores competing for playing time. They couldn’t cover in their home opener beating Akron by 10 as a twelve point favorite. Play Pittsburgh -1.5
Monmouth vs. Kansas College Basketball Pick Prediction 11/15/2019
College Basketball Pick is Kansas -25.5. Monmouth a team from the MAAC conference. Return four starters from a 14-21 team that made it as far as their tournament title game but losing there. They have road losses by 20 at Hofstra and 19 at Kansas St. Defensively road form not good allowing 46.2% shooting and 38.9% from three. Kansas has been tested dropping a 2 point decision to Duke. They are making 40% from three and have Azubuike back. Huge addition from last years injury plagued year. Kansas can defense and get close in baskets against this bad Monmouth defense. College Basketball Pick is Houston -10. They do lose four starters but fill that role with returning bench players and transfer. Head coach Kelvin Sampson has built a culture in this program to defense and made a good run in the NCAA Tournament last season. They blew out their opening opponent Alabama St by 28 and covered behind 51.8% shooting and 41% from three. BYU dropped a five point decision at home to San Diego St and followed up that performance with a five point win to Southern Utah failing to cover each game. They are without their best player Yoeli Childs who sits a nine game suspension to start the season. BYU surrendered 45% from three to San Diego St and allowed Southern Utah to make 50% from the field. Kelvin Sampson will defend BYU and will find things easy for his team offensively. Play Houston -10.

College Basketball Pick is Utah Utes -3.5. Golden Gophers return two starters from last season. They have dropped two straight with losses by 9 on a neutral court to Oklahoma and by 8 at Butler. Golden Gophers shooting poorly hitting only 42.7% with 31.5% from three and 62% at the free throw line. Only one senior on the roster. Huntsmen Center in Utah is always a tough place to play. Utes do have a notable win at Nevada as a +4.5 underdog and enter play at 2-0 after a 143-49 win at home to Mississippi Valley State. They did shoot 49% at Nevada and pulled down 26 more boards than the Wolf Pack. Utes coach Larry Krystovwak does have returners from his bench to fill the starting lineup and transfers. Rebels defending the perimeter holding teams to 27.3% shooting. This was a program under Marvin Menzies that improved in each of his three season. So things can be set for success here.
