Baylor vs. Kansas St Pick Prediction 10/5/2019

Baylor at Kansas St—College football pick is Kansas St Wildcats -2. Kansas St returns home after splitting their two game road trip with a win at Mississippi St and a loss at Oklahoma St. Wildcats are running the football effectively with 241 yards per game with 5.3 yards per rush. They are defending the pass holding opponents to 127 passing and 51.1% completion rate. Baylor in their lone road game faced Rice and was not able to cover as a 27 point favorite in a 21-13 win. Bears in that win at Rice rushed for only 3.5 yards per carry on 35 attempts. Wildcats defense has performed better at home. Junior quarterback Skyler Thompson has seen action in all three of his years with the school. He is completing 62% of his passes with four touchdowns and no picks. He is also a threat to run the football. Senior running back James Gilbert is averaging 5.8 yards per carry on the season. Wildcats have covered four of five at home to Baylor. Play Kansas St -2.

Virginia Tech vs. Miami Pick Prediction 10/5/2019

Virginia Tech at Miami—College football free pick is Miami Hurricanes -13.5. Hurricanes have defended well this season holding opponents to only 270 yards per game with only 2.1 yards per rush. Miami has pounded the Hokies the past two seasons with wins 38-14 on the road last year and 28-10 at home two years ago. This looks like another down season for the Hokies. Their defense was torched at home to a rebuilding Duke offense 45-10. Virginia Tech looked small on the field defensively and not physical signaling recruiting digression with the school. Those Hokies teams of the past had monster defensive fronts and a solid back seven. Hokies have failed to cover all four games. Hokies run game is generating only 3.6 yards per rush. Miami is moving the football through the air with a 72.4% completion rate and 276 yards passing. Play Miami -13.5.

Purdue vs. Penn St Pick Prediction 10/5/2019

Purdue at Penn St—Free pick is Purdue and Penn St to play over the total of 55.5 points. Purdue in their loss at home to Minnesota last week allowed 396 yards passing and four touchdown throws against their defense. In their prior home game TCU ran all over the Boilermakers in a 34-13 win by the Horned Frogs. Penn St showed strength on their offense in their Big Ten opener pounding Maryland 59-0 on the road. Purdue is without Elijah Sindelar and look to their backup and injuries in the receiver position. Backup Jack Plummer did pass for 245 yards and two touchdowns against Minnesota last week. Boilermakers got 94 yards rushing and two touchdowns from running back King Doerue. Plummer can run a bit. Purdue generates enough offense to push this one over. Play Purdue and Penn St over the total of 55.5.

Boston College vs. Louisville Pick Prediction 10/5/2019

Boston College at Louisville—College football pick is Boston College Eagles +6.5. Eagles have quality in their backfield in quarterback Anthony Brown and running back AJ Dillon. BC is producing good offensive numbers as the team is rushing for 251 yards for 5 yards per rush. Boston College has won and covered their past two meetings. Louisville is an improved team but still not a contender for an ACC championship spot. Cardinals come off the 35-24 road defeat at Florida St allowing 522 yards with 382 passing. Cardinals struggled on third down 5 of 17 against the Seminoles. Louisville has failed to cover seven straight against the conference. Boston College has covered 13 of their past 16 ACC games. Play Boston College +6.5.

Northwestern vs. Nebraska Pick Prediction 10/5/2019

Northwestern at Nebraska—College football free pick is Northwestern Wildcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers to play under the total of 50.5 points. We know what Northwestern is playing with a starting quarterback. They are defensive minded and running the football a lot. Wildcats offense averaging only 15.5 points per game and holding opponents to only 21.5. They held Wisconsin to 24 points last week in defeat as Northwestern ran the football 41 times and threw it 18. Wildcats defense held the Badgers to just 133 yards rushing on 33 carries for four yards per attempt. Wisconsin passed for only 113 yards on 15 of 24 completions. Against a strong defense the Cornhuskers were held to seven points at home. Don’t expect Northwestern to be as strong offensively as Ohio St last week but good enough defensively to keep this under. Sophomore quarterback Hunter Johnson is completing only 48.3% of his throws for Northwestern so it is obvious for the Wildcats to limit possession and go ball control on the ground. Play Northwestern and Nebraska under the total of 50.5 points.

Tulsa vs. SMU Pick Prediction 10/5/2019

Tulsa at SMU—Free pick is SMU Mustangs -11.5. Mustangs have won and covered all five games this season. They have a notable three point win at TCU and beat a good North Texas team at home 49-27. At quarterback for the Mustangs is junior quarterback Shane Buechele a transfer from Texas. Head coach Sonny Dykes is in his second season with the Mustangs who have talent. SMU is generating 510 yards per game. They are balanced rushing for 222 yards with 4.7 yards per run. Mustangs passing game under Buechele is completing 69.8% of their passes for 288 yards. Team is posting 44.4 points per game. SMU is also defending with a strong defensive line. Tulsa has struggled on the ground with only 2.4 yards per rush average on an average of 44 carries per game. That will make it tough for their passing game. Golden Hurricane is posting only 21.4 points per game and doesn’t have the fire power to keep up with the Mustangs scoring in this spot. Tulsa offense ran for only 83 yards on 43 carries on the Wyoming defense Play SMU -11.5.

Air Force vs. Navy Pick Prediction 10/5/2019

Air Force at Navy—College football pick is Navy Midshipmen +3.5. Home team has covered four of their past five meetings. Navy has played well defensively holding opponents to 251 yards per game with 3.2 yards per rush on the ground. Midshipmen does play in the better conference of the AAC. Senior quarterback Malcolm Perry is a dual threw quarterback in the Midshipmen offense. Perry is completing 65.4% of his passes with three touchdowns and no picks. He has rushed for 247 yards and six touchdowns in his past two games. Falcons play their third road game in four weeks. In their road games the Falcons have allowed 64.8% completion rate. Navy behind an experienced quarterback does have the ability to make big plays in the passing game. Falcons defense did give up 378 yards to San Jose St last week. Play Navy +3.5.
