Maryland vs. Temple Pick Prediction 9/14/2019
Maryland vs. Temple College football pick is Maryland Terrapins -8. Terrapins are off to a fast start this season. Graduate transfer Josh Jackson from Virginia Tech is coming off a good performance in their blowout home win to Syracuse last week. Jackson three for 296 yards with three touchdown completions. Terrapins posted 42 points in the first half against the Orange. On the season Maryland is averaging 635 yards per game with 335 on the ground for 7.2 yards per attempt. Defensively the team is holding opponents to 1.1 yards per carry on 34 attempts per contest. Revenge spot for the Terrapins here but the quarterback play has improved since the Owls win last year. Owls have gotten off to slow starts the past few seasons. Owls have not been tested open the season with Bucknell and coming off a bye week. Play Maryland -8.
Pittsburgh vs. Penn St Pick Prediction 9/14/2019
Pittsburgh vs. Penn St—College football free pick is Pittsburgh Panthers +17 points. Must respect the play of the Pittsburgh defense. They have faced respectable opponents in Virginia and Ohio this year and the team is holding opponents to 281 yards per game with 2.6 yards per rush on 31 carries per game. Panthers have Kenny Pickett return for his junior season under center. Pickett coming off a good game against the Bobcats throwing for 321 yards with a big passing play for 74 yards in the win. Penn St first year starting quarterback Sean Clifford faces his best defense after the Nittany Lions opened the season at home to FCS Idaho and Buffalo a team losing many starters last season. Penn St have young playmakers and inexperienced in the front seven. Didn’t like seeing Buffalo’s offensive line pushing back the Nittany Lions defensive line. Play Pittsburgh +17.
NC State vs. West Virginia Pick Prediction 9/14/2019
NC State vs. West Virginia—Free pick is West Virginia Mountaineers +7. This is a young NC State having to replace seven starters to their offense including their quarterback Ryan Finley who battled for a roster spot in the NFL. Inexperience playmakers and on the offensive line. This is also the Wolfpack’s first true road game after opening at home to East Carolina and Western Carolina. West Virginia faced a strong quarterback in Clemson transfer Kelly Bryant, so this is a step down in class for the Mountaineers. Head coach Neal Brown built up a good defense with his time at Troy. Not prepared to lay a touchdown with an inexperienced NC State team on the road. At home the Mountaineers show improvement after their loss at Missouri. They did beat a good FCS team in James Madison in their opener behind a good defensive performance. Play West Virginia +7.
Air Force vs. Colorado Pick Prediction 9/14/2019
Air Force vs. Colorado—College football pick is Colorado Buffaloes -3.5. Buffaloes once again seems a bit short on the point spread like they did last week in their comeback win to Nebraska. They are getting good work from their experienced quarterback Steven Montez as the team is completing 67.2% of his throws for 14.8 yards per completed pass. Buffaloes have covered four straight against the Mountain West. Air Force opened their season at home to FCS Colgate then get a bye week. Up next for the Falcons is Mountain West rival Boise St. Falcons lost five of six on the road last year with the lone exception against a bad UNLV team. It will be tough for Air Force to match the Colorado scoring with this potent offense. Play Colorado -3.5.

Stanford vs. UCF—College football free pick UCF -2.5. This is an experienced Knights team on offense returning eight starters from last year. Notre Dame transfer Brandon Winbush lines up under center for the Knights for his senior season. He did sit out the Florida Atlantic game to nurse and injury. UCF pounded FAU on the road last week winning 48-14 behind a freshman quarterback. Stanford with starting quarterback KJ Costello under center generated only 10 points from their offense in their win. Last week with Costello nursing a head injury inserted a sophomore quarterback and get blown out by USC behind a freshman quarterback. Costello was ruled out for only the USC game. Cardinal inexperienced on offense and defense as four starters returned on offense and five to the defense. Their top wide receiver from last year JJ Arcega Whiteside is now playing on Sundays with the Philadelphia Eagles. Back to back road game for Stanford who has a monster home game next week to Oregon. Play UCF -2.5.
Texas St vs. SMU Pick Prediction 9/14/2019
Texas St vs. SMU—Free pick is SMU -18. Second year for head coach Sonny Dykes for the SMU Mustangers program. He has experience on offense and defense. He has Texas transfer Shane Buechele at quarterback for his junior season. SMU opened the year with a seven point win at Arkansas St then defeated North Texas at home last week 49-27. This is a Mustangs team averaging 505 yards per game with 326 passing and a 63.7% completion rate. Texas St is a team that has won only seven games the past four seasons. They are off to an 0-2 start after their 23-14 home defeat to Wyoming not covering as a +7.5 underdog. Bobcats have scored seven points or fewer four of their past five games with the 14 at Wyoming the most. Can’t back Texas St against an improved SMU team that does have nine starters back on defense. Play SMU -18.
