Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears Pick Prediction 9/5/2019
Packers at Bears—NFL pick is Chicago Bears -3. Bears have covered two straight against the Packers. This was a stout defensive team last year that held opponents to 300 yards and 18 points per game. Like the addition Bears added depth in their backfield signing former Seahawks running back Mike Davis who ran for 514 yards and averaged 4.6 yards per rush. Team is also loaded at wide receiver signing Cordarrelle Patterson from wide receiver. Chicago has covered nine of their past eleven. Matt LaFleur was the offensive coordinator for Tennessee last year and now is in his first season as head coach with Green Bay and his first game in on the road in an early start to the season. No preseason action for Aaron Rodgers under his first year head coach. Could take time for things to click with the Packers with these big changes. Packers did have issues in pass defense. Green Bay has failed to cover four straight against the division and the Bears have covered seven straight against the division. Packers 2-14 straight up as an underdog. Chicago have also covered 12 of their past 16 at home. Bears defense tops in forcing turnovers last year, fourth on third down and fifth in the red zone. Play Chicago Bears -3.
LA Rams vs. Carolina Panthers Pick Prediction 9/8/2019
Rams at Panthers—NFL free pick is LA Rams -3. Rams have a very good road team winning 14 of 17 straight up. Under McVay 2-0 in Week 1 with a 37 and 20 point win. Team is 6-1 straight up under McVay in September with four covers and a push. Panthers offense has sputtered the past three seasons as the team has averaged just 23 points per game the past three seasons. Cam Newton sprained his ankle in Week 3 of the preseason. There is a question on how it feels in a game situation. The Panthers signal caller is also coming off shoulder surgery. He struggled throwing the football downfield last season. There is not much depth to the Panthers playmakers in their offense. They will be without their reliable kicker as Graham Gano is with injury. Rams got help in their backfield with talented running back Darrell Henderson from Memphis. He averaged 8.9 yards per run last season. Rams offense put up 31 points and 412 yards per game.
Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles Pick Prediction 9/8/2019
Redskins at Eagles—Free pick is Philadelphia Eagles -8. Eagles have had success against the Redskins winning four straight by 10 points or greater. They averaged nearly 400 yards per game in their two meetings a season ago. Carson Wentz has plenty of targets in the passing game and there is depth at the running back position. Philadelphia added JJ Arcega Whiteside at wide receiver from the draft. Team picked up running back Jordan Howard in free agency from Chicago where he rushed for 935 yards and nine touchdowns. Redskins are dealing with injuries at their wide receiver and tight end position. Washington has failed to cover nine of 12 against the NFC East. Washington lacking talent with their playmakers. Derrious Guice their running back coming off an ACL injury. Philadelphia defense last year was sixth best on third down and best in the red zone. Play Philadelphia Eagles -8.
Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets Pick Prediction 9/8/2019
Bills at Jets—NFL pick is Buffalo Bills +3. The concern is for the Jets secondary. This was a poor defensive team a season ago allowing 28 points and 380 yards per game. Adam Gase takes over from head coach coming over from Miami. The Dolphins offense got progressively worse under Gase. Bills quarterback Josh Allen should see a bump in production in his second season. Buffalo has the better defense. They hold opponents to only 294 yards and 23 points per game a season ago. They did pick up a possession receiver for Allen in Cole Beasley from Dallas. In the draft Buffalo selected a very good defensive linemen in Ed Oliver from Houston. New York is banged up on the offensive line and lacks talented wide receivers. New York was 29th on third down and 30th in the red zone on offense. Play Buffalo Bills +3.
