Saints moved the football for 487 yards with Drew Brees passing for 346 yards and four touchdowns. LA gained 348 yards with 391 yards passing with three touchdowns and a pick by Jared Goff. Saints were 5 of 5 inside the red zone while LA went 3 of 5. New Orleans had 141 rushing yards to the Rams 92.

LA advanced into the NFC Championship after their 30-22 home victory to Dallas Cowboys as a -7.5 betting odds favorite. LA held their 20-7 halftime lead. They gained 459 offensive yards with 273 rushing. Jared Goff hit on 15 of 28 passes for 186 yards. CJ Anderson ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns with Todd Gurley posting 114 yards with a touchdown. Neither team had a turnover and the Rams offense was 2 of 4 inside the red zone. On defense Los Angeles allowed 308 yards to the Dallas offense with only 50 rushing yards on 22 carries. LA did allow 258 yards passing with a touchdown along with 2 of 2 inside the red zone.

New Orleans advanced past the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round 20-14 as a -8.5 betting odds favorite. Saints rallied from a 14-0 first quarter deficit. Their offense produced 420 yards with 137 rushing. Drew Brees hit on 28 of 38 for 301 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Team had a +1 turnover margin and went 2 of 2 inside the red zone. Alvin Kamara ran for 71 yards on 16 carries. Mark Ingram had 53 yards on nine rushes. Defensively New Orleans allowed 250 yards to the Philadelphia offense with 49 rushing on 16 carries They did allow 201 yards passing with a touchdown and two picks.

Saints have done a good job of defending the run this year at 3.3 per carry. Saints have the Rams game plan from that Cowboys game and find that the LA team struggled with their passing game in the red zone. Jared Goff will have less time in the pocket in this road game as the crowd noise means the LA receivers will be slower off the line of scrimmage. Drew Brees is a much different passer than Dak Prescott. Brees has a fast release that frustrates teams with a good pass rush. It takes the confidence away from a pass rush when you have a quarterback that can avoid pressure by finding his receivers quickly. Expect the Saints to go three and even four wide to spread out the LA defense. Prescott does not have the accuracy of Brees and it will be evident in third down plays. Goff has been up and down and needed the help of his running game as in the end LA still only won by one possession. Play New Orleans -3.5.
