Baylor Bears vs. SMU Mustangs Odds

The betting odds from this game have the home side SMU Mustangs the -35 point wagering favorite with the over under set at 75 points.

The teams met in 2014 with Baylor earning the 45-0 home victory as a -31 ½ point wagering favorite.

Baylor completed their 2014 campaign with a record of 11-2. At 8-1 in conference they were the co-champs of the Big 12. Their 14 point road loss at West Virginia denied the Bears a shot in the playoff competition. Up 41-21 in the Cotton Bowl, Baylor blew the lead and gave up the final 22 points all in the fourth quarter to eventual winner Michigan St.

This will be an experienced bunch in 2015 with 18 starters returning. The team put up 48 points and 581 yards per game a season ago. With 2014 starting quarterback Bryce Petty now a member of the New York Jets the baton will be passed to junior Seth Russell. Petty sat out a game last year against Northwestern State with Russell throwing for eight touchdowns in the win. Baylor has a tough scheduling spot late in the year. On November 21st on a Saturday the team plays at Oklahoma St. The Friday after Thanksgiving is November 27th where they will play at TCU.

SMU completed a miserable 2014 season with a record of 1-11. They went 1-7 in the AAC conference. After just two games into the season head coach June Jones gave his resignation. Former offensive coordinator at Clemson, Tom Mason takes over the program. He will have 16 starters back to work with.

His has a huge mountain to climb as SMU averaged just 11 points per game and gave up 41 per game to their opponents. Junior Matt Davis will start in week one as he saw action in five games a year ago. He threw for just 855 yards with three touchdowns and five picks.
