Utah had a successful 2014 as they concluded play at 9-4 overall. They finished with a record over .500 against the PAC 12 for the first time since moving to the conference with a mark of 5-4. They totaled 31 points of offense per game with their defense limiting their opposition to just under 25 points per contest.
The Utes in 2014 should the ability to win close games. Their defense kept them in many of their contests allowing the offense to win with late scoring drives to bolster their confidence. Utah had wins against both USC and UCLA from the PAC 12 south in 2014. Quarterback Travis Wilson is a senior and returns to the school in 2015. Wilson must beat out Kendal Thompson who transferred to the school from Oklahoma. Head coach Kyle Whittingham will have 14 starters back from last year’s team as they lose four starters each from both sides of the ball.
