Chicago Bears versus Denver Broncos NFL Pro Football Exhibition Sports Betting Preview

The Chicago Bears will visit the Denver Broncos for a much-anticipated NFL preseason game on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff time in Denver is at 8PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by NBC. LVSC NFL sports betting odds makers have set the opening point spread in this game and the home team Denver Broncos opened as 1 ½ point favorites with the over under coming in at 37 ½. The early money from the sports betting public has come in on the favorite, as the Denver Broncos are currently a 3-point favorite. The total has been bet upward by NFL bettors as the over under is currently lined at 38. NFL money line bettors can make an NFL bet on the favored Broncos at –140 with the Chicago Bears bringing back +120 to win without the point spread factoring in the NFL bet.

In NFL preseason the third week is typically referred to as the dress rehearsal as the starters figured to play well into the third quarter in order to get conditioned for the start of the regular season. This game will see the return to Denver of former starting quarterback Jay Cutler who was traded to the Bears during the off-season. Cutler has been critical towards the organization as well as Denver fans. In preseason Cutler is 13-23 for 185 yards and touchdown and an interception. Cutler was impressive last week in the Bears win at home to the New York Giants. Caleb Hanie will see action in relief of Cutler and all reports are that he has held off Bret Basanez as the team’s backup to Cutler. Hanie is 18-29 for 207 yards and 1 touchdown thus far in the preseason. On the Broncos side after a poor start to the preseason in game 1 with 3 interceptions, starting quarterback Kyle Orton responded with a 18-26 passing effort for 182 yards a touchdown and an interception last week at Seattle. The veteran Chris Simms is ruled out for Sunday’s game with a high ankle sprain so in relief of Orton will be rookie Tom Brandstater who has thrown only 4 passes in preseason. Pro bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been suspended by the team and will miss the game. Marshall has been disgruntled about his contract in search for more money and has exhibited unprofessional behavior, which was detrimental to the team.
